Primary Community Assistant Teacher

Employee Hours: 10:00am - 6:00pm

The Primary Community Assistant Teacher is a critical component of the Primary Community at MAC. The position requires flexibility and adaptability in supporting all five primary classrooms classes during the day and after school program. The right person will have an optimistic “can do, will do” attitude, anticipating what any situation needs and making themselves useful in it.

General Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Clean and maintain an orderly and beautiful Community Room with rotating activities, adding new activities frequently
  • Oversee the Nap Room
  • Proactively collaborate with Lead and Assistant teachers to best understand how to support all classrooms
  • Willingness to step in a classroom and help support the children
  • Help with lunch breaks and/or recess daily
  • Help maintain the outside environment
  • Engage in frequent positive communication with parents at pick-up, representing MAC with professionalism and showing parents you know and love their children
  • Establish positive and productive relationships with school personnel
  • Supervise children in all activities


Qualifications

  • 2-year degree required, Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Experience working with Primary Aged children (2.5-6 years old)
  • Ability to effectively interface with students, parents, faculty, and staff
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Desire to contribute and be part of a strong team
  • Clean Background check
  • Ability to commit to the position for a minimum of one year
