Welcome to The Montessori Academy of Colorado! Now more than ever, parents are faced with the decision to not only find the school that is right for your child, but one that partners with parents and feels like family. MAC is truly that. Our leadership team and our teachers are invested in your children’s growth, well-being and development. After reading through our site, we're here to provide information about MAC and help you decide if it's the right place for your family.

Montessori schools follow a unique and exciting educational approach that nurtures a child’s intrinsic desire to learn. Founded on the work of Dr. Maria Montessori (1870-1952), Montessori schools focus on each child’s cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development. Montessori classrooms foster independence, organization, and problem solving skills while providing children with a solid academic foundation.

Recent articles have suggested that the Montessori philosophy of teaching is ideally suited to meet the needs of 21st century learners. This is because Montessori classrooms resemble more of a work-place or company than a traditional school. Through exploration, discovery, and teamwork, the children are actively pursuing learning goals, and intentional learning feels important to the children. The teacher is an aid to academic discovery and not the keeper of the information. Academic strengths are celebrated and differences are supported; therefore, there are no limits to what each child can learn.

We are creating what we like to call "22nd Century Learners." We take pride in nurturing the development of the whole child. We help our students establish critical thinking, social collaboration, and creative problem-solving skills as well as global and environmental awareness. In a world where technology is on the rise and human workers are being displaced by machines, MAC takes pride in our mission to develop creative and collaborative individuals that will become innovators and world citizens in years to come.

MAC is accredited by ACIS and AMS.  We have grown from an ECE program to now a thriving Elementary School and a new Middle School in the 2022-2023 school year. At MAC, children are known and loved and our staff feel a sense of community. We are always striving to make MAC the best possible school and employer.
