Chef Tommy Lee Shares His Story & Craft with MAC Middle
Nationally renowned chef, Tommy Lee, chef/owner of restaurants Uncle and Hop Alley in Denver, visited MAC Middle this week and shared his passion for cooking with a demonstration and delicious sampling of his famous ramen noodles. His visit was part of MAC Middle's 2nd academic unit, "What Sustains Us?" during which students are exploring the many aspects of life that sustain us as individuals and communities with an emphasis on culinary science. Students learned not only about the technical aspects involved in composing a dish, but also about Tommy Lee's story and the people and influences that led him to become a chef. "We learned that he's very inspired and uses the experiences of his childhood to determine what he likes," noted one MAC Middle student. Thank you, Tommy Lee, for sharing your story and craft with MAC Middle!
