Celebrating Día de los Muertos in Elementary
Elementary had a beautiful time celebrating Día de los Muertos this week, a traditional Mexican holiday celebrated November 1st - 2nd. On this holiday, it is believed that the souls of those who have passed return to visit their living family members. The Elementary students decorated sugar skulls, cut and prepared Hummus Calaveras and reflected on their loved ones. On Friday, a group of Lower Elementary students went to the Denver Botanic Gardens for Día Discovery Days. A huge thank you to Toni and Carey for sharing the holiday and its deep meaning with the students.
