Upper Elementary Going Out Trip

Upper Elementary Going Out Trip
Jennine Friess

Upper Elementary went on a Going Out to the Museum of Nature and Science to see the Mysteries of the Ice Ages exhibit and to learn! They began their new unit and are studying the Ice Age and other prehistoric eras to understand the migration patterns and the human species over time. Going Outs (trips outside the classroom and into the community) allows students to learn firsthand through experiences. This type of learning is impactful and supports the work happening in the classroom through hands-on experiences that enhance their understanding of theoretical concepts and make learning more tangible. Students plan all aspects of the Going Outs through research, planning, and execution, all of which build their entrepreneurial skillset.
