In Upper Elementary, students take on the responsibility of running the MAC Coffee Cart, a student-led business that serves as both a learning experience and a fundraising effort, with proceeds going toward the students’ capstone 6th-grade trip.
Planning every aspect of the Coffee Cart, from sourcing and making the products for customers to managing inventory, teaches students financial literacy, collaboration, and teamwork. From handling money and making change to tracking expenses and profits, they gain real-world experience in managing a small business.
