Object to Matching Cards in Montessori
Jennine Friess
Object-to-matching cards is a Montessori activity that helps children develop the ability to generalize and recognize similarities and differences between objects.
Using a tray or basket, children match real objects to corresponding pictures, which may not be identical but share key characteristics. This activity supports the transition from concrete to abstract thinking, strengthens concentration, and encourages critical thinking skills. This is a fun one to try at home. Provide your child with a small set of objects and matching pictures and allow them to explore and make connections independently!
