Music and Montessori
Jennine Friess

Last week, some Primary friends had fun singing and playing instruments with Mr. Danny! For Primary-aged children, music is a natural way to express themselves and connect with others.

Singing together builds community and helps children internalize rhythm, pitch, and language patterns. As they sing, clap, and play instruments, children strengthen memory, coordination, and concentration. These activities also refine fine motor control and hand-eye coordination, fostering both confidence and creativity. Beyond the developmental benefits, music helps children feel grounded in routine and belonging, and shared songs create joyful moments of connection within the classroom.
