In Nido, children are working hard to do the things we take for granted; learning to use utensils to eat, glasses to drink, and learning to walk. The Nido environment is thoughtfully prepared to allow the littlest learners the chance to safely explore their surroundings in a space that fosters independence and allows children to move freely and make choices, promoting physical and cognitive development. The emphasis on activities like practical life skills and sensory exploration in a supportive, structured atmosphere helps infants gain the motor skills and confidence necessary for taking their first steps, ultimately transitioning from crawling to walking. This past week we saw two Nido friends taking a stroll through the front office. One friend enjoyed the ride while the other friend confidently showed us his walking skills while helping Ms. Tamara push the wagon.
