Kindergarten Students Back to School
Jennine Friess
Our Integrated Kindergarten (IK) students have had a busy few weeks learning, exploring, and developing a tight-knit cohort.
They’ve participated in team-building activities, an art walk, tie-dying shirts, a pancake breakfast, identity work, IK specials, and library visits. IK students also participate in Drop Everything and Read (DEAR), which is precisely what it sounds like! It’s a fun way to encourage a love of literacy, and the IK students enjoy it. In addition to honing advanced academic skills, the IK year focuses on leadership in the classroom and strengthening peer relationships, providing a solid foundation for Elementary school.
