My name is Meghan Robertie and I am the the Lead Teacher of the Cielo Classroom. My favorite part of teaching is witnessing when children experience those “a-ha” moments each day in the classroom. Whether it is writing their name, slicing an apple, or solving a word problem for the first time, they light up in such a beautiful way. Being in the classroom is one of those rare opportunities to be able to be a part of those moments over and over again, and it fuels my passion for teaching.
My wide range of experience in teaching over the past ten and a half years has empowered me with the skills to be able to manage the multi-age Montessori classroom, guide assistant teachers, and develop curriculum. I make strong connections with the families in my classrooms, and have been able to set goals for their children in social, emotional, and academic development. Children in my classroom are allowed to be their authentic selves and are guided in a way that allows them to reach towards their full potential, which is such an important part of the Montessori philosophy.
I have a degree in Human Development and Family Studies, with a concentration in Early Childhood Education from Colorado State University, as well as an Early Childhood Teaching Certification from the Montessori Education Center of the Rockies (MECR) in Boulder. My personal interests include singing, playing the guitar, sewing, cooking, snowboarding, camping, and gardening.
