I have been working in education for over twenty years as a teacher, tutor, Principal and now, Director.

After substituting in the public schools back in the 90's in Cincinnati, OH (where I was raised), I was convinced that there had to be a more progressive and respectful way to work with young children. I stumbled upon the Montessori method and the rest was history.

I received my M.Ed and Montessori Certification (AMS, 6-9 Lower Elementary) from Xavier University and interviewed all over the country. I landed in Denver and taught at the Montessori School of Denver, a 25-year old school with a wonderful program. In my first year there we took the elementary program from falling enrollment to waitlist status. I completed two cycles with two groups of children and after six awesome years, decided to try something different. I launched KIDSPACE, a design business which helped transform children's play spaces and bedrooms into better organized and designed environments using the Montessori philosophy and the imagination of the child as the primary "client". After presenting the business at a Parent Ed at Graland Country Day School, I was approached about taking on a teaching assignment due to an emergency with a staff member, and began teaching third grade. I spent several years at Graland and longed to be back in Montessori. I then accepted a teaching position at Montessori Children's House, which led to an offer to open their fourth and newest location in Stapleton as Director (Principal). I also worked as Director of Family Star Montessori right here in Curtis Park before finding myself just a few blocks down Curtis Street at MAC and loving life. I am so excited to have arrived! What a wonderful community of staff, children and families.

I live in Curtis Park with my fiancé Keith, our dogs Finn (a LOUD hound) and Chloe and our cats Zoe and Frank. On most days I enjoy walking to work, to lunch and back home and I am glad to call MAC my "second" home.

  • Meghan Robertie

My name is Meghan Robertie and I am the the Lead Teacher of the Cielo Classroom. My favorite part of teaching is witnessing when children experience those “a-ha” moments each day in the classroom. Whether it is writing their name, slicing an apple, or solving a word problem for the first time, they light up in such a beautiful way. Being in the classroom is one of those rare opportunities to be able to be a part of those moments over and over again, and it fuels my passion for teaching.

My wide range of experience in teaching over the past ten and a half years has empowered me with the skills to be able to manage the multi-age Montessori classroom, guide assistant teachers, and develop curriculum. I make strong connections with the families in my classrooms, and have been able to set goals for their children in social, emotional, and academic development. Children in my classroom are allowed to be their authentic selves and are guided in a way that allows them to reach towards their full potential, which is such an important part of the Montessori philosophy.

I have a degree in Human Development and Family Studies, with a concentration in Early Childhood Education from Colorado State University, as well as an Early Childhood Teaching Certification from the Montessori Education Center of the Rockies (MECR) in Boulder. My personal interests include singing, playing the guitar, sewing, cooking, snowboarding, camping, and gardening.
