OH, we’re on the way, we’re on the way, on the way to Grandpa’s farm,

We’re on the way, we’re on the way, on the way to Grandpa’s farm,

Mr. Pumpkin

(Tune of Are You Sleeping?)

Mr. Pumpkin, Mr. Pumpkin,
Big and round, big and round,
Harvest time is coming, harvest time is coming,
To our town, to our town

Mr. Pumpkin, Mr. Pumpkin
In the patch, in the patch
I am gonna pick you, I am gonna pick you
Just like that, just like that!

Mr. Pumpkin, Mr. Pumpkin,
Big and round, big and round,
Harvest time is coming, harvest time is coming,
To our town, to our town

The Pumpkins are Here

(To the tune of The Farmer in the Dell)

The pumpkins are here, the pumpkins are there.

The pumpkins, the pumpkins are everywhere.

The pumpkins are up; the pumpkins are down.

The pumpkins, the pumpkins are all around.

The pumpkins are in; the pumpkins are out.

The pumpkins, the pumpkins are all about.

The pumpkins are low; the pumpkins are high.

The pumpkins, the pumpkins all say, "Good-bye".

I’m a Little Pumpkin

(Sung to I’m a Little Tea Pot)

I'm a little pumpkin nice and round
I grow big and plump on the ground
When I turn bright orange then I'll be

The perfect pumpkin for your family (sing 2X)

Have You Ever Seen a Pumpkin

(To the tune of The More We Get Together)

Have you ever seen a pumpkin, a pumpkin, a pumpkin,
Have you ever seen a pumpkin, that grows on a vine?
A short one, a tall one, a big one, a small one.
Have you ever seen a pumpkin, that grows on a vine? (sing 2X)

The Pumpkins on the Vine

(Farmer in the Dell)

The pumpkins on the vine, the pumpkins on the vine,

Hi-ho the pumpkin patch, the pumpkins on the vine,

At first you plant the seed, at first you plant the seed,

Hi-ho the pumpkin patch, at first you plant the seed,

The seed needs some rain, the seed needs some rain…

The seed needs some sun, the seed needs some sun…

The seed starts to sprout, the seed starts to sprout…

The sprout grows a bloom, the sprout grows a bloom…

The bloom grows the pumpkin, the bloom grows the pumpkin…

They start out very small, they start out very small…

At first they are all green, at first they all are green…

They’re orange when they’re ripe, they’re orange when they’re ripe…

They all are different shapes, they all are different shapes…

We get to pick one out, we get to pick one out…

We’ll make some pumpkin treats, we’ll make some pumpkin treats…

If You See An Orange Pumpkin

(To the tune of If You’re Happy and You Know It)

If you see an orange pumpkin clap your hands (clap, clap)

If you see an orange pumpkin clap your hands (clap, clap)

If you see an orange pumpkin, boy, you know that could be somethin!

If you see an orange pumpkin clap your hands (clap, clap)

If you see an orange pumpkin stomp your feet…

If you see an orange pumpkin shout hooray…

If you see an orange pumpkin do all 3

Chants and Finger Plays

"Five Little Pumpkins"

Five little pumpkins sitting on a gate (five fingers up)
The first one said "Oh my it's getting Late" (Hands on Cheeks)
The second one said "There's a chill in the air" (arms around self)
The third one said "But we don't care" (swing pointer finger)
The fourth one said "Let's run, run, run!" (running motion)
The fifth one said "We're ready for some fun!" (hand in air)
So woooo went the wind (arms whooshing), and out went the lights (big clap),
And the five little pumpkins rolled (roll fists) out of sight (cover eyes)!
